Slicker Classic Rainscreen

5/5
First time user and immediately a believer. We used the Slicker Classic Rainscreen instead of furring strips. It saved tons of labor with the easy roll and staple install. Cuts easy and doesn’t fray. Will definitely recommend on any future shake or shingle job. It’s worth the price for the large amount of labor you’ll save, and the added lifetime it should add to the wall system is a no brainer.

Easy to work with

5/5
I’m still in the process of shingling a small area that was damaged with rot. So far the classic rain screen has been super easy to work with. My only complaint, and it is a small one is, it’s hard to measure and cut in one of the orientations. It’s no problem measuring and cutting along the side that the channels run since you can measure and then cut pretty accurately along the length of the channel. However, the other way is a little tricky. I haven’t tried marking it with a pen or pencil but I don’t think it would be that easy given the material and the orientation of the strands. For the most part I just estimated a little on the long side and then trimmed to size. Only downside is a little wasted material. I’ll know more about how well it resists compressing, etc. once I start nailing the actual shingles.

Great product that easily accomplishes the air gap we need for drying behind siding. The ease of install adds very little time to our overall siding installs, creating an affordable solution for our clients.

Slicker Does The Job

5/5
For a small facade renovation, we spec'd Slicker Classic behind marine plywood large scale clapboards. It was the perfect product, and we feel confident it will dramatically extend the life of the treated plywood finish.

Found another use for Slicker Classic Rainscreen

4/5
This product was recommended to me by someone who had used it in the past. I was installing a semi-rigid insulation in a damp basement crawl space and used the Slicker between the masonry wall and the insulation to provide an air gap to allow any possible moisture to either flow down or evaporate before it touched the insulation. Installation was very easy. Ordering the product was also a smooth process and received my order in Canada within a week.
